Virginia DMR Training & Traffic Net

ARRL Virginia is launching a new section-level training and traffic net in January 2027! The net will operate over the DMRVA repeater network using the Virginia Statewide Talkgroup, 3151. While initial access will only be through DMRVA repeaters, hotspot access is under development and testing. Download the Plan Presentation and Rollout Plan on this page for details.

The primary purposes of the net are to:

  • Provide a way for Technicians to participate in traffic handling beyond Winlink
  • Address current gaps in “last mile” delivery of radiograms
  • Increase traffic volume
  • Engage hams in becoming traffic handlers

Volunteers are needed to help launch this net! Specifically, we need:

  • Development of a traffic handling training curriculum
  • Net Manager
  • Net Control Stations
  • Net operational schedule
  • Liaisons to and from other nets
  • Participants from as many DMRVA repeater locales as possible
